Helping Employees Get Well

The American Cancer Society offers support to your employees during and after cancer treatment. Visit cancer.org or call 1-800-227-2345 for more information – 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

How can we help your employees facing cancer?

At the time of diagnosis, through the course of treatment and even after treatment is done, individuals diagnosed with cancer and their caregivers have a wide range of needs. The American Cancer Society understands theses needs and offers information, day-to-day help, emotional support to cancer patients, survivors, and caregivers during every step of the cancer experience.

How does it work?

Your employees can call the American Cancer Society 24 hours a day, 7 days a week at 800-ACS-2345, or visit us at www.cancer.org to take advantage of our free, convenient, and confidential resources. Trained Cancer Information Specialists will help ease their cancer burden by connecting them with the help they need.

Your company’s role:

  • Encourage your employees affected by cancer to contact the American Cancer Society at 1-800-227-2345 or online at cancer.org.
  • Create an ongoing promotional strategy to keep employees informed that having cancer is hard, but finding help for themselves or family members shouldn't be.
  • Make employees aware of the American Cancer Society cancer resources so they can take advantage of our free, personalized services. These services will help your employees learn about cancer, make informed decisions, connect with others, and get help and support in the community.

Features and Benefits

The American Cancer Society can help your employees affected by cancer navigate their way through diagnosis, treatment, and life beyond cancer. In addition to referring your employees to specific resources in their community, the American Cancer Society also offers programs, services, and information listed below to provide hope and support to your employees.

Cancer Programs:

  • Cancer Information: The American Cancer Society can give your employees the information they need to make informed decisions about cancer. We can refer employees to the resources in their area that can help them cope with the disease.
  • Places to stay during treatment: Getting the best care sometimes means cancer patients must travel away from home. The American Cancer Society is trying to make this difficult situation easier for both cancer patients and their families through our lodging programs.
  • Rides to treatment: When transportation to treatment is a concern, we may be able to help provide the rides.
  • Cancer Survivors Network: Online network that connects cancer survivors and patients.
  • Look Good...Feel Better: Workshops that teach female cancer patients how to cope with appearance-related side effects of cancer treatment. This program is offered in collaboration with the Look Good Feel Better Foundation and the Professional Beauty Association.
  • Reach to Recovery: Matches trained volunteers with those facing or living with a breast cancer diagnosis to provide more personal, one-on-one support.
  • "tlc" – Tender Loving Care: Magazine and catalog offers affordable hair loss and mastectomy products, as well as clothing, along with advice on how to use those products
