Member Testimonials

  • "As Leaders we have the responsibility to help our colleagues avoid and overcome the curse of cancer. Today, through CEOs Against Cancer, we have a tremendous opportunity to devise and implement measures that can truly make a difference in improving health and quality of life."

    George Buckley

    Chairman, President and CEO
    3M Company
  • "CEOs Against Cancer offers a simple meeting that brings together a powerhouse of (Illinois) corporate executives to discuss their best practices regarding employee health and the fight against cancer. It’s inspirational and a very wise use of time."

    Doris Christopher

    Founder and Chairman
    The Pampered Chef
  • "The American Cancer Society did a complete assessment of our wellness program. This helped us see where we were succeeding and where we had room to improve. Linking our employees to Society programs such as Active for Life and tobacco cessation coaching enhanced our health benefits while giving everyone the hands-on tools to pursue healthy, cancer-free lives."

    Craig Duchossois

    CEO
    Duchossois Industries, Inc.
  • "Preventing cancer must be a priority in our state. If we address root causes – such as tobacco use, physical inactivity and unhealthy eating – we can improve health, save lives and make health care more affordable and accessible to all. Blue Cross is pleased to work with the American Cancer Society in working to prevent and successfully treat cancer. I encourage other Minnesota business leaders to join in this effort."

    Pat Geraghty

    President and CEO
Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Minnesota
  • "As a cancer fighting company, we are committed to wellness programs that help to prevent this disease among our employees. We are pleased to partner with CEOs Against Cancer in this cause. We urge all employers to join us in this battle by implementing their own cancer prevention and wellness programs."

    Timothy Guertin

    President, CEO & Director
    Varian Medical Systems, Inc.
  • "CEOs Against Cancer brings together the people who have tremendous power to change the fact of cancer in (Minnesota). When corporate executives of this caliber share best practices in conjunction with the latest information from the American Cancer Society, we can look forward to real change for the better."

    Russell Huffer

    Chairman and CEO
    Apogee Enterprises, Inc.
  • "One in two men and one in three women will get cancer. While those statistics are certainly daunting, remarkable progress is being made in cancer research. Today, people are living longer with cancer and more people are being cured. Along with expanded research, increasing public awareness about cancer is also leading to earlier diagnoses, treatments, and preventions for this terrible disease. The effective outreach of CEO’s Against Cancer is a great source of hope and I am thrilled to participate in this wonderful initiative."

    Sherry Lansing

    CEO
    The Sherry Lansing Foundation
  • "As corporate leaders we have the ability to make an impact on the lives of our employees and those in the communities we serve. If we use our talents and energies to face a common foe like cancer, there's no telling what we can accomplish."

    Allan "Bud" Selig

    Commissioner of Major League Baseball
  • "CEOs Against Cancer provides the tools you need to engage your workforce in the pursuit of long-term health. We invite you to explore the many benefits this program can help you deliver for your employees and their families."

  • "As charter members of CEOs Against Cancer, Walgreens has encouraged and motivated employees to make positive lifestyle changes – and maintain them. Ours is a tobacco-free campus, and our tobacco-cessation program and lower health insurance premiums for nonsmokers encourage our employees to be tobacco-free. We also raise awareness through periodic lunch-and-learn programs that feature health experts; charitable giving efforts, including our annual corporate Charity Choice campaign that supports the American Cancer Society and our in-store fundraising support for Relay For Life events and more. As a national leader in pharmacy, health and wellness programs, we are committed to the health of our employees. I hope you’ll join CEOs Against Cancer, for the health of your employees, those they care about and your organization."

    Greg Wasson

    President and CEO
    Walgreens
