What is Freshstart?

Freshstart is a group-based tobacco cessation counseling program. The program is designed to help participants stop smoking by providing essential information, skills for coping with cravings, and group support.

Freshstart is a facilitator-lead program. To implement the Freshstart program at your organization, a representative must register and complete Freshstart Facilitator training. After completing training process, that person can access the program materials and begin offering Freshstart in your organization.

Please Note: You or someone from your organization will deliver Freshstart. American Cancer Society staff are not available to deliver Freshstart classes.

How Do I Become a Freshstart Facilitator?

To become a Freshstart facilitator, you'll need to complete the online facilitator training course. The recorded self-study module is available anytime and you can complete it at your own pace. The entire training is about two hours. Also, in July, we will begin hosting live Q&A sessions quarterly. More information about the live Q&A sessions will posted here soon.
